About This Program

A 'My Village My Business' women-empowerment initiative in Bengaluru, supported by the IIT Madras PG 79 Charity Initiative and implemented by Pure India Trust. Covering 4 communities/slums, 16 applications were received and 12 shortlisted; 10 small businesses (fruit & vegetable shops, flower shops, a tiffin center) were launched for BPL women after screening, entrepreneurship development training and ongoing mentoring. In their first month of operation (July 2026) the ten businesses together earned Rs 43,625 in revenue and Rs 32,156 in profit, an average profit of about Rs 3,216 per entrepreneur.
