About This Program
A 'My Village My Business' women-empowerment initiative in Bengaluru, supported by NIT Warangal Alumni (1967-73) and implemented by Pure India Trust. Covering 3 communities/slums, 18 applications were received and 12 shortlisted; 10 small businesses (flower shops, a tiffin center, vegetable shops) were launched for BPL women — including several widowed or physically challenged — after screening, entrepreneurship development training and ongoing mentoring. In their first month of operation (July 2026) the ten businesses together earned Rs 1,49,769 in revenue and Rs 69,001 in profit, an average profit of about Rs 6,900 per entrepreneur.
